Show and tell Activity- Nest

Up up on the trees building a place to rest

Searching for twigs, hay and leaves, to build their lovely nests.

Eggs then laid in cozily to receive the love and warmth.

The young ones hatched and chirping now

Beneath the wings of their motherly love.

As an extension of their theme of the month, children of Jr.KG Witty World enjoyed a show and tell activity. Each child brought a bird nest along, and spoke a few lines about it. The auditorium witnessed many well prepared lines and poems on the beautifully made nests that children had brought. Meanwhile, the other children cheered and applauded for their classmates, motivating each other to give their best.

Apart from fostering a sense of belonging with nature, the show and tell activity was also great for building confidence and eliminating stage fear.

Innovation at its Best

Witty International School takes learning beyond desks and chairs and enables the student to venture out for various field visits and educational tours. The places for these visits are planned at the beginning of every academic semester and the visits are scheduled to be interspersed between the academic days. This time the students of Witty International School visited the Innovation Festival in Nehru Science Center. The festival aimed at providing a platform for artisans, creators, makers and innovators to showcase their innovation, talent and creativity to a large number of visitors especially school children. From a Mars Rover, a prototype of an automated motor vehicle that propels itself across the surface of the planet by IIT-Bombay students, to workshops on photography, draping, crafts and textiles, the exhibits at the Innovation Festival belonged to varied fields, united by the idea of trying something new. Participants from fields of art, craft, science and technology from across the country showcased new and emerging concepts at the event.

Wittians  learnt about devices for hassle-free cleaning of rice, travel bags with folding seats, modified crutches and adjustable walkers which were some of the exhibits that were on display at the three-day Innovation Festival of Nehru Science Centre.  Students also observed many interesting projects such as Low -cost Braille printer, MittiCool, IIT-B's racing car, replica of first Benz car, working model of gearless spherical robot, mind-controlled chair for physically challenged and autonomous underwater vehicle from IIT Bombay.

Aiming at encouraging the students Principal Bijo Kurian quoted, “Innovation is about ideas. One must think about an issue and a problem and come out with ways to solve it. If your idea fails to convert into an action, a product, a solution, then it is not an innovation. You must have an idea and you must take it to its logical end, in terms of usable product or a usable process. If we want India to flourish in terms of innovation these things should be considered.” In a unique blend of art and science as part of the festival, Wittians participated in workshops in photography, draping, knitted ornaments, crafts and textiles such as kalamkari pottery, Warli tribal art, hand block printing, sholapith and lehariya .

This visit enabled students to develop their ideas into innovative projects. Wittians were amazed at the vast expanse of knowledge at display and their grasping power knew no bounds as they learned the deeper gradations of Science. Learning in assorted ways appealed to our visual learners which in turn catered to their growth. After spending the day at the juncture of knowledge students returned to school still at awe at the learning experience they had at the Innovation Festival.

Celebration of Healthy Salad Day by Playgroup Section at Witty World, BN, [2015-16]

“Eat Healthy, Live Healthy’’

Cooking is a messy, delicious, sometimes time-consuming activity, especially when done with a little one. However, we at Witty World believe that it's never too early to start developing culinary skills, especially since cooking is a complete sensorial experience for  children. On  February, 25th The little Wittians of playgroup  made some scrumptious  healthy salad.

 Children had already been informed to bring the necessary  ingredients  for the activity from their home. It was amazing to watch the little ones  role play being  chefs and preparing healthy salad  with their teachers. The little ones were very proud of their creation and were eager to taste it.

With a perfect balance of  flavours, children munched on this healthy salad, which also helped to keep up with their daily nutrient requirements.

What a yummilicious day for all!!!!

                                                 Healthy Salad Day

Witty Kids has always emphasized on good health and healthy eating habits for children.  To further inculcate this habit “Healthy Salad Day” was organised for the little Wittians of Playgroup class on Thursday, 25 February 2016. The little chefs had brought different chopped vegetables like tomatoes, boiled corn, cucumber and boiled sprouts in their tiffin. They mixed all the ingredients in a bowl and garnished it with coriander leaves. 

Children enjoyed making, sharing and eating the yummy ‘Healthy Bhel’!

Celebrated Black and White Colour Day (Playgroup) on 24.02.2016, WIS, Bhilwara

The toddlers of Playgroup WIS Bhilwara celebrated black and white colour day on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 with a lot of exciting activities. The entire class room was decorated with black and white objects such as balloons, balls etc.Kids and teachers came to school in black and white coloured clothes and they also brought their favourite black and white objects such as ball, bottle, box , car ,etc.They also stuck black paper on Zebra worksheet. The toddlers could recognize the black and white colour in  an  interesting way.

Black & White Day

Black is the colour of my hair,

White is the colour of my teeth,

Black is the colour of a crow,

White is the colour of a dove,

And Black and White is the colour of a zebra....

On Wednesday 24^th February 2016, the little Wittians of Playgroup section at Witty World celebrated "Black and White day" ,as the theme of the month is Day and Night. Teacher & children came dressed in Black & White clothes. The class was decorated in Black and White objects and balloons. They revised the concept, and indulged in a lively  discussion  about  Black & White objects.

The concept was further reinforced when children did black and white colouring on a penguin  worksheet.

It was a fun and exciting way of learning colours!!

In keeping with the ongoing concept of day and night, the children of Playgroup celebrated ‘Black and White Day’ on Wednesday, 24 February 2016.

White depicts the day and black depicts night.
The beauty of this natural phenomenon was explained to the children through the colour black and white.
Teachers and children enthusiastically participated in the colour corner game.

White is the colour of purity, peace and innocence. On Tuesday, 23 February 2016 children of Playgroup section at Witty Kids celebrated “White Day”. The class was beautifully decorated with white colour object flash cards. Little Angels had come dressed in white colour clothes. Children enjoyed doing the Star moonlight activity. They really had fun and enjoyed themselves to the fullest!!

Black & White Colour Day (Playgroup) Witty Kids , Bhilwara 24/02/2016

The little kids of Witty Kids, Shastri Nagar, Bhilwara  celebrated Black & White Colour Day on Wednesday, February  24`2016  . The children came in black and white coloured clothes and brought black and white colour objects . Teacher told that the colour of clouds is changed to black when it is monsoon.. Children stuck the black wool on Zebra worksheet. Children enjoyed the black and white game and recognized the black & white colour .

Excursion to KidZania, Primary Section WIS PB

'Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.'

Witty International School, Pawan Baug organized a fun filled excursion to KidZania, R City Mall, Ghatkopar for the students of Primary Section on Friday, 19th February 2016. The students were enthusiastic and excited to visit the Edutainment Theme Park. KidZania is a safe, unique, and interactive indoor theme park that helped Wittians to empower, inspire and educate themselves through real-life role-play activities. It is themed as a city, complete with paved roads, battery operated cars, buildings, a functioning economy and its own currency blend with excitement, entertainment and education. It provided an authentic and powerful developmental platform where our Wittians discovered, explored and learnt about the real-world.

After the entry process, each Wittian was given an entry cheque which he/she could encash for 50 Kidzos at YES BANK. Students participated in various interactive activities – the STAR TV studio, the Times Of India, Fire and Police Department, DHL, Bollywood Masala dancing, Chika’s Locker, etc.  Live performances were presented by the students in a mini theatre after being trained for it.

Wittians enjoyed branded activities like bottling Coca-Cola, working in a Crest-sponsored dentist office, McDonalds restaurant, painting with Nerolac, washing hands with P&G's Safeguard soap, using airline tickets, etc and worked in factories like PARLE-G, Dairy Milk, Chocos, Frooti, etc, where they were actually involved in the process of manufacturing and the reward for their work was the product itself. The children also spent their hard-earned Kidzos either getting a makeover at the makeup lounge, doing body art or face painting at the salon or the barber shop. It was indeed a day of fun and learning at KidZania for the students!

Wittians transferred their knowledge, skills and values that they have acquired at school and home and practised them in a safe and realistic setting.
