Cyber Crime Awareness Seminar by the Head of Cyber Cell, Mumbai Police [2014-2015]

At Witty International School we are proud to bring forth our most distinguished segment – “WIS Lecture Series”, to bridge the gap between the industry, academia and students by giving an opportunity to all to interact with the most eminent personalities of varied fields. In our constant endeavor to inspire, inform and update students with modern advancements, WIS has been acting as a platform for both the brilliant and the blooming to connect and have an interaction of a lifetime.

The first in our Lecture Series was the Cyber Crime Awareness Seminar conducted on 26^th July, 2014 in Witty International School, Pawan Baug. Our guest of honor for the day was, Shree Nandkishore More , Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch and  the head of Cyber Cell Division , Mumbai. 

The Cyber Crime Investigation Cell of Mumbai Police was inaugurated on 18th December 2000. It deals with the offence related to the computer, computer network, computer resource, computer systems, computer devices and Internet. 

Students learnt about various cyber crimes like hacking, cyber stalking, denial of service attack, virus dissemination, software piracy, phishing etc. They also learnt about cyber laws and how they can protect themselves from scams.  The students enriched a lot from his talk on cyber crime prevention. The take home message for students was that  “Internet is safe to use, but unsafe to 
misuse.”

Fun with Chocolate - Little Chefs in the making - Sr KG, Witty World

The theme for the month in  Sr.Kg was - How do things work? As an extension of this, on 25th July, they learned how chocolate is made. And what better way to learn than to try making some for themselves!.So the children decided to put on their chef hats and got down to making yummy choco balls using desiccated coconut and some yummy chocolate syrup. It was a complete and sensorial experience for the children as they got to touch, smell, feel and taste both the ingredients. And not to forget it was a total treat not only for the children but also for their parents, who got a first taste of their child’s cooking!

Dress Me Up- Community Helpers In Jr.Kg (2014-15) at Witty World

Doctor helps when down with flu,

Teacher teaches reading and writing too.

 Fire fighter fights fire that might harm you,

Police officer helps us stay safe in all that we do.

Grocer helps in buying things for food,

Carpenter makes lovely things from wood,

Dentists check whether your teeth are good.

 Postman, Painter, Baker and Hair dresser;

All these community helpers make our lives easier!!!

On Friday, 25^th August, 2014, Witty World saw a parade of teachers, bakers, doctors and other community helpers, as Jr. KG children participated in a culminating activity for the theme of the week- Community Helpers.All the children dressed up as their favourite and desired community helper. They were enthusiastic and confidently showcased their talents on stage. Each child either sang a song or spoke a few lines on their respective community helper. Children received cheers and encouragement from their fellow mates which boosted their confidence and helped those with stage fright overcome it. They thoroughly enjoyed using the child size Witty podium to enhance their presentation.

It was role play at its best indeed!!!

The Right Smile, WIS Pawan Baug [2014-2015]

Good oral hygiene is important for maintaining overall health. The presence of oral problems is usually the first warning signs of some of general health issues.

By treating conditions early and learning how to prevent oral health issues, one  can achieve better overall health and ultimately better the quality of one`s life.

Considering these aspects Witty International School (Pawan Baug) conducts annual dental check-up sessions for the students. This year the dental check up was conducted on the 25^th of July 2014 by Dr Mahendra Agarwal for students of Grade 8, IGCSE I, IGCSE II, 'AS' and 'A' levels.

Surely this session has helped the Wittians get their smile right.

PARENTS' DAY CELEBRATION AT WIS, UDAIPUR

“The most beautiful thing in this world is to see your parents smiling and the next best thing is to know that you are the reason behind that smile”. Today on 25^th July, 2014 parents visited the School with their children for a fun filled dance workshop, art workshop and an interactive workshop on "Emotional Connect with children” on the occasion of PARENTS' DAY.

The workshop was by Ms. Aishwarya Singh were designed to help bridge the gap between parents and their little ones on emotional ground. Most parents, particularly with young children sometimes feel helpless when they have to address issues pertaining to the emotions of their child. So to narrow this gap, this workshop was designed.  The day was full of Artistry, Emotional Connect with children and Dance Masti, where parents participated and enjoyed with full enthusiasm. The dress code for the event was traditional green and lehariya, where parents and children came dressed in the same and participated enthusiastically.

Overall, the workshop was overwhelmingly positive and gratifying. The wonderful response from parents can be seen in the photographs and videos.

Introduction of Rain Creatures - Snail & Earthworm PG Section (2014-15) WIS, Malad

Baarish jab bhi aati hain to earthworm aata hain,

Mitti se nikal kar earthworm aata hain,

Snail bhi dheerey dheerey chalta rehta hai,

Snail bhi dheerey dheerey chalta rehta hai.....

“Snail and Earthworm” were introduced as the rain creatures in Playgroup section of WIS on Friday, 25 July 2014. Real snail and earthworm were brought by the teachers. Children were very excited to see the rain creatures in their class. Teacher also sprinkled some water on children to give them the feel of the rainy season. Our little Wittians got a firsthand experience to understand the concept in a better way.

Chocolate Making Activity Sr. Kg. (2014-15) WIS, Malad

I love chocolate, oh! yes I do.

Eating chocolate is a must too.

They say dark chocolate is now good for you too. Cooking with children is one of the best ways to make connections across and amongst many disciplines.

The above thought helped us to organise a chocolate making activity for our Sr.KG children on Friday, 25 July 2014. Children were explained the recipe of making the chocolate. Later children along with their teachers made chocolates. Children were excited to relish the chocolates made by them. Children had great fun by involving themselves as “Little Chef’s”.

Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated at WIS,Bhilwara(25.07.14)

In the memory of the gallant soldiers who gave up their lives to capture Kargil, Students of W.I.S celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Students came in soldiers’ dress and presented the history of Kargil war in a poem form.

Aao aao suno kahani. Na hai raja, Na hai rani,

Veero ke balidano ki, Amar kahani hai ye purani.

Aaya 1999, Tha May mahina,

Padosi desho k humlo ne, Sara sukh tha china,

Akhir kya chahte the vo, Kya thi asi baat,

Humle par humle kiye, Na dekha din, Na hi raat.

Fir jub chaal samajh mein aai, Aur samajh mein aaya raaj,

Chahte the Kashmir chinna,  Jo hai Bharat ka sartaaj.

This poem was followed by a patriotic song sung by the students. The atmosphere was filled with true spirit of patriotism. Every student was looking like a little soldier who is ready to serve the nation.
