Favourite Toy Day Celebrated by Nursery WIS,Malad [2015-16]



                                        Favourite Toy Day 

Important social skill is developed in children while they play with their favourite toys. Play also helps improve their visual and auditory senses.
WIS Nursery section celebrated “MY FAVOURITE TOY DAY” on Wednesday, 24th June 2015. This is the day when children can bring their favourite toy to school. They were excited to show their toy to their friends. Before they had an opportunity to play, the children shared few things about their toy and why it was their favourite toy. After show and tell children were allowed to play with their toys, and share their toys with their friends. Little Wittians had a great time playing with their favourite toys at school.






Cooking Activity by Nursery WIS,Malad [ 2015-16]

Cooking is not only a fun and engaging activity for children of all ages, but also a great way of teaching them concepts in a hands-on manner. Children of Nursery section at Witty International School were given a unique introduction to the Summer Season on Friday, 26 June 2015. Children were very thirsty because of hot weather and Mango being the summer fruit they also got to taste it by making Mango Juice. Children were excited to prepare the juice. They added Mango syrup to water and mixed it all up to make a refreshing Mango flavoured drink. Children relished the refreshing drink and enjoyed a lot.

“Laughter is the best medicine” keeping the thought in mind “Laughter Day” was celebrated with playgroup children at Witty International School on Friday, 26 June 2015. Mr. Clown and Mr.Smiley came to the class to make children laugh and play. Children had brought smiley toys to school along with them. Children enjoyed playing with them and had loads of fun followed by a smiley card making activity. It was indeed a smiling day for the little ones.

Secondary Section - Yoga For Healthy Living (2015-16) WIS, Malad.


“Yoga for Healthy Living”



True enjoyment comes from activity of the mind and exercise of the body; the two are united. To hail the International Day of Yoga, sessions were held at Witty International School, Ramachandra Lane, across the sections. A brief session on the importance of Yoga was conducted. Basic exercises and the Suryanamaskar was the start of the session followed by various sitting postures such as Vajrasan and Sukhasan. Further as the school observed the ‘Yoga Week’, a boost has been created through various charts, posters and articles. Presentation on Benefits of Yoga was done in the Assembly. It was an overall workout of the mind and body and students made it a journey of the self, through the self and to the self.




Secondary Section - Celebrating Love for dad (2015-16) WIS, Malad.


Celebrating love for Dad



Father’s day celebrates fatherhood. Although it is celebrated on different dates world wide, at Witty International School ,Ramachandra Lane, Malad, Fathers day was celebrated on June 22 to mark the significance of a father in a child’s life. On this occasion of students expressed their gratitude and affection towards their father by composing poems, preparing charts, book decoration and penning down description about their father as a hero. Students willingly took their initiative to prepare handcrafted art work through greeting cards. Moreover students also presented their father with mementos as their token of love. WIS has always strived to live up to the motto of family bonding by stressing this need of the role played by a father in a child’s life.






Secondary Section - Health is Wealth (2015-16) WIS, Malad.




Annual Theme – ‘Health is Wealth’



The Annual Theme for the academic year being ‘Health is Wealth’, we reopened on 18th June 2015 with display of Healthy living, Balanced diet, Importance of being healthy and various topics on health.
During Enrichment Hour, information was given pertaining to health and health hazards. Homemade remedies were discussed by the students which can be helpful during an emergency at home.
Students came up with slogans and articles about healthy living and balanced diet. Slogans like ‘SAY NO TO JUNK FOOD’ ‘GO GREEN STAY HEALTHY’ etc were displayed.

Students made resolutions to keep themselves away from junk food. Healthy chat’s (recipe) were prepared by Grade VII D shared by all during break time.  Further more to come, will be many activities related to the same. 






Secondary Section - Eye Donation and Blood Donation Day (2015-16) WIS, Malad.



Eye Donation and Blood Donation Day



The theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Thank you for saving my life’
It focuses on thanking blood and eye donors who save lives every day through their donations and strongly encourages more people all over the world to donate blood and eye voluntarily and the slogan ‘Give freely, give often’ Blood and Eye donation both matters.


Therefore, during the Enrichment Hour session, students of Witty International School shared facts and information on Eye and Blood donation. Group discussions were held on the same. Further, a talk by an Ophthalmologist and an eye check-up will be arranged in the school as our action plan.





Witty International School, Pawan Baug celebrates International Yoga Day

Witty International School has always been instrumental in holding various health programmes. Apart from all other sport activities, yoga has also been a part of the school curriculum.


As quoted by our Principal Mr. Bijo Kurian “Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline which  has been speculated to date back to pre-Vedic Indian traditions, in India. As Yoga has techniques of controlling the body and the mind; it becomes a disciplined method for students to improve concentration for attainment of goal. Apart from the spiritual goals, such kind of sessions help the students to alleviate health problems and reduce stress.”

 In keeping up with this philosophy and in commemoration of International Yoga Day WIS arranged a programme wherein students had the opportunity to practice and learn from a highly acclaimed Yoga Guru practicing multiple styles of Yoga including Kundalini Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and Kriya Yoga. The International Yoga Day programme at WIS explored the eight limbs of Yoga and how they apply to our lives.

 Renowned Yoga Guru, Shree Hitesh Amarseda  from the Art of Living conducted the Yoga Day Programme in Witty International School, Pawan Baug. The session included  prayer, meditation, games, c̣ālana kriyas ,various yogasanas like tādāsana, vruḳ- sasana, pada-hastasana, ardha cạkrasana, trikoṇasana , bhadrasana,  śasankasana, vakrasana and many more following the “Ayush Manual for World Yoga Day.” Many young and enthusiastic students bent and twisted their bodies in complex postures during the event. An insight into developing and enhancing a better life style was preached and practiced through the session which ended with a harmonious and peaceful meditation.
