Seminar on Self Esteem and Self Confidence at Witty Internatioal School Pawan Baug (2018-19)

Magic of believing in ‘You’

Witty International School believes that schools play an important role in the personality development of students. This is the need of the hour as it is essential for the holistic development of children and their survival in this competitive world.

On 19thJanuary, 2019,  A workshop was conducted in the sprawling campus of Witty International on how to build one’s self esteem and self - confidence for students from grade 6 to 9. The workshop was conducted by Ms.Manini Mishra,a renowned actress in the Indian Film industry.

She started the workshop with a creative introductory session. This was followed by a discussion on The Self, one’s desires, dreams, passions and motivations. Students were told how important their dreams and desires are for developing one’s personality. It was stressed that they need to have a passion in life. Students were also given tips on how to increase their self-esteem. They were also encouraged to be optimistic and to have a positive approach about everything in life. Most importantly, it was emphasised that they should love themselves and never lose confidence

The motto of the day was,“Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something. You got a dream, you have to protect it. When people can’t do something themselves, they’re going to tell you that you can’t do it. You want something go get it.”She emphasised on the message that we should never give up and should always have a strong will through an interactive session. One must persist to pursue dreams regardless of what may happen and not succumb to the negativity around us.

To sum up, it was a well thought-out workshop motivating the students to discover themselves.

In the words of our Bijo Kurian our beloved Principal “A student’s self-esteem is largely affected by their inner voices. Authentic self-esteem comes not from improving one’s self-image but from being established in self-referral, from knowing and accepting that core self within that is beautiful, wise, and loving. Once you have fully owned and experienced your essential nature, you will let go of the struggle to build an external sense of self-worth. You will stop trying to “make” yourself feel better as you push down feelings of emptiness and unhappiness. We believe that every child is unique and is filled with immense potential and calibre. This workshop has enabled us to unleash the best in every child.
