To give a hands on experience related to the theme ‘Flowers and Insects’ the little ones of Witty World, Goregaon East Playgroup and Nursery section were taken to Lokmanya Jaiprakash Narayan garden on Thursday, 28^th March, 2019.

The objective of the activity was to reinforce the topic to inculcate the love for the environment and to enjoy the beauty of nature. The students were briefed that the garden has a collection of a range of flowers. Children observed and explored variety of colourful flowers, insects and plants. They were curious to know about the surrounding and were very happy to experience nature so closely along with their friends and teachers. The little learners were responsible and refrained themselves from touching the plants and plucking leaves or flowers. This field trip sensitized the students towards caring for the environment and the importance of planting more trees. Indeed it was a fantastic day out with friends in the garden full of lots of learning.

Fancy Dress and Poetry Recitation by Nursery Section at Witty World Bangur Nagar (2018-2019)

On Tuesday, 26^th march, 2019 ‘The Sparkling Stars of Nursery section’  participated in Fancy Dress and poetry recitation ‘Theme for Fancy Dress was ‘Marine Animals’, insects and flowers , fruits, vegetables, wild animals , 5 senses , transport.  Little Wittians came dressed as different types of Fishes, vegetables, insects , wild animals etc. The teacher’s motivated children to speak few words and recite poem about the character they were dressed up in.

At Witty Kids we believe in experiential learning in different ways. What could be better than water play. Water play serves as a catalyst to enhance a number of developmental areas like physical and social skills. So, Children of Sr.KG section were taken for water play in our in-house mini swimming pool. It also soothes the mind and senses. During water play there is no right or wrong way of playing. Water play provides a lot of open ended opportunities for extended learning. Children had a great time playing in water along with their peers as well as teachers.

Holi celebration by Jr.KG section at Witty Kids, Chikoowadi (2018-19)

“Holi hai holi hai

Chhaya har jagah hai rang rang

Aao milkar khele holi

Hum sab bachhe sang sang

Holi hai haan holi hai”

The festival of Holi, typically marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring. People in different parts of the country celebrate Holi by splashing coloured water over each other, signifying the bright profusion of summer colours in nature.

However, keeping in mind the current scenario in our drought afflicted water starved nation, Witty World celebrated Holi in a unique yet colourful manner, without wasting a drop of water!! Instead of the typical pichkaris and water guns, children came equipped with colourful shreds of crepe papers. They had a great time showering   each other with coloured paper while at the same time chanting HOLI HAIN!!

Sensitising such young minds to environmental issues, and helping them create alternative eco-friendly solutions, goes a long way in creating productive global citizens of the future!!!
