India is a
land of festivals; people from different religions express their faith and
gratitude to God through various festivals.
Today at
WIS, Wittians celebrated two festivals – Id and Teej. Children imparted
information that Islamic community religiously fasts for a month to atone for
the sins that they may have committed. They conclude this reformatory process
by feasting and greeting each other. One sweet preparation “Sewayian” is the
highlight among various special food preparations. It is said that on this day
prophet Mohammad received sacred Kuran from Allah.
Students
also celebrated “Teej” a local festival for rainy season. Newly wedded woman
express their gratitude to God for bestowing rain, grains and vegetation.
