RAKSHA
BANDHAN CELEBRATION
The children
of Pre-Primary section celebrated the festival of "Raksha Bandhan" on Friday, 8 August
2014.
Teacher
explained about the festival, as it celebrates the strong relationship between
brothers and sisters and its importance to the children.
The ceremony
involves the tying of a rakhi (sacred thread) by a sister on her brother's
wrist. This symbolises sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being
and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her. The brother in return offers a gift to his sister and vows to look after
her and they feed sweets to one another .
The
celebrations also included a few fun filled activities where the children of
Play Group, Nursery and Junior KG prepared their own 'Rakhi' after which the
girls tied the rakhi to the boys in the class. Children of Senior KG decorated
the Envelop by using various decorative materials.
The celebration
ended with a strong bond between the brothers and the sisters in the class.
