Robotics is
an interdisciplinary branch
of engineering and science that
includes mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and others. Robotics deals with the design,
construction, operation, and use of robots,
as well as computer systems for
their control, sensory feedback,
and information processing. The
enthusiastic learners of Grade V to VIII of Witty International School, Atun
Road got the opportunity to gain deep knowledge about robotics in the seminar
held on Thursday, January 11,2018. The key note speaker of the seminar was Ms
Nikita Chopra (M.S. Electrical and Computer Engineering, specialized in
Surgical Robotics from Western University, Canada).
She informed the students about the technologies which are
used to develop machines that can substitute for humans. Students were glad to
know that robots can be used in any situation and for any purpose. Robots can
take on any form but some are made to resemble humans in appearance. This is
said to help in the acceptance of a robot in certain replicative behaviors
usually performed by people. Such robots attempt to replicate walking, lifting,
speech, cognition, and basically anything a human can do. Many of today's robots
are inspired by nature, contributing to the field of bio-inspired robotics.
The Academic and admin head Mrs Abha Mittal
thanked the guest for the informative seminar. The Seminar was a good learning
experience for everyone.
