Sometimes all it takes to make the day better is a
smile. A simple thing, a circle with a
few dots and an upturned curve which we all know as the smiley face was created
by Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts in the year
1963. It was out of concern that the sheer commercialization of this symbol
would strip it of its original intent and meaning that he created the World
smile day. This day gives an opportunity to help brighten the world and make it
a better place through the simple power of smile.
In keeping with the aim of this day students of Grade 1 Witty
World Chikuwadi celebrated World Smile Day by making and decorating smiley face
badges. Students also displayed their culinary skills where they used raw vegetables
and fruits to make a smiley face. The activities brought a smile on the face of
our students.
