Art
washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life...
Dance
can be a social activity, but it can also be a very spiritual experience.
Ancient Indians were
deeply impressed by the spiritual power of music and dance, and it is out of
this that Indian classical
music and dance were born.
Indian
Classical Dance is one of the finest ancient art forms of the world. Apart from
its beauty and
entertaining qualities as a pure performing art, its spiritual propensity as
well as its ability to positively
affect and enhance one’s mental intellectual capacities in multiple ways is well
acknowledged.
SPIC
MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Classical Music
and Culture among Youth) is a
movement with the intention of enriching the quality of formal education by
increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and
inspiring the young mind to
imbibe the values embedded in it. For this purpose one of the most accomplished
Kathak artist Mr Souvik
Chakraborty, was invited to Witty International School, Atun Road, Bhilwara on
Wednesday, April 25,2018. Students of Grade III to VIII were gathered in the
seminar hall for a small workshop. Kathak artist Mr Souvik Chakraborthy
showed and taught the various dance movements, gestures, stories and
expressions to the students. Everyone was spellbound with the beauty, grace,
values and wisdom embodied in this art. The students were
enthralled by the beautiful, lofty and marvellous performances. They were
highly motivated by the presence of SPIC MACAY.
