Onam is the biggest festival in the
Indian state of Kerala and an attraction for people outside the state too. It
is a harvest festival celebrating the reward of nature after a year of hard
work by the farmers. It also marks the homecoming of legendary King Mahabali. The
festivities of Onam last for ten days and bring out the best of Kerala culture
and tradition. Intricately decorated Pookalam, ambrosial Onasadya, breath
taking Snake Boat Race and exotic Kaikottikali dance are some of the most
remarkable features of Onam celebrations.
The traditional beauty of Kerala was brought forth by the students of Witty Kids who celebrated Onam, giving a festive look to the school by making ‘Torans’ and ‘Pookkalam’ (Floral Rangoli), thus making the whole atmosphere wonderful and awesome. Students used flowers and all their creativity to create vibrant and beautiful Pookkalam designs. The most beautiful design is created in the heart and this thought was loud and clear whilst the students celebrated this joyous festival.
