Literacy is the prime requisite for learning and plays a vital role in the development of a country.
At Witty International School, Udaipur, World Literacy Day was celebrated by students of grades I and II on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. It was a great opportunity to raise awareness in the classroom about the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies through the book exchange activity.
When reading feels good to children, they become readers. Little Wittians brought the story books which they have already read, wrapped in gift papers. They gifted it to their friends and got a different story book in return. Thus, the children were encouraged to continue to be lifelong readers.
The colorful book exchanges and supportive interactions provided opportunities for positive communication and team work skills.
