Witty International
School, Pawan Baug celebrated the French
National Day on the 12th July, 2019 with great pomp and splendor. The celebrations commenced a week prior
where the students engaged in preparing photo booth props, bottle and tote bag
decoration as well as making miniature
French monuments .The celebrations
also marked the beginning of Frenchinéma- Witty International School’s French
film festival wherein students were shown a French film, the Astérix et Cléopatra
to help gain exposure to the French culture .The Guests of Honour
were Mr. Philippe GUILLIEN Attaché for cooperation in French
Langauge and Ms Prochy MASTER–secretary of IATF (Indian association of teachers
of French) The events included a traditional
welcome dance ,a medley which was a soulful
rendition of amalgamated French songs , a French skit – “C’EST QUOI LE 14
JUILLET?” a dance ‘Tout Va Bien’ where one witnessed the little French belles
thumping and swaying joyously on an upbeat number , Défilé de mode’, a French
Fashion Show where the attires reigning from the 1950’s to 2000’s were
beautifully displayed and finally the
spectacular Grand Finale. The guests expressed their delight to be part of such an enigmatic programme. The Principal Mr Bijo Kurian added that Witty International promotes international
mindedness by organizing such events aiming to make the students global
citizens .
Mr Vikash Gollas
alumini of Campus France, a government agency that operates under the French
Ministry of External Affairs conducted a seminar through a presentation on the
educational opportunities in France .Students of grade IGCSE , As Level and A
levels attended the seminar where they were briefed about the relevant programs offered by different French public
and private institutions for the Graduate ,Post Graduate and Doctorate programs
in various fields .The interested students would also be provided with personalised counselling
sessions to pursue education in France. It was a truly enriching session for
the Wittians .
