Janmashtmi is celebrated as the
birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of
Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on
the Ashtami of Krishna Paksh or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month
of Bhadon. This day indicated the beginning of hope in the older times; hope,
that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end.
To seek the blessings of Lord
Krishna, Janmashtmi was celebrated on virtual platform at Witty International
School, Atun Road, Bhilwara on August 11, 2020 with mirth and joy.The students were engaged in so many traditional and fun
activities where they have actually learned about the history and birth story
of Lord Krishna, his lifestyle and the things he used to do. The story of Lord
Krishna was explained with a wonderful short video where students have come to
know lot many things about Lord Krishna’s life, and they really enjoyed it. Also, some traditional activities for the students were planned, so that we can
create an equal balance between the learning lessons for students. Our motive is
to make the students know about our rituals and traditions as well so that along with
western culture they might not get disconnected with our own culture, and
always have that true connection with our festivals, ethics, rituals and
traditions. Witty International School, Bhilwara has successfully organized the
virtual Janmashtmi celebration even in this COVID-19 situation. Students have
prepared - “Krishna’s crown”, “Bansuri of Lord Krishna”, “Decorated the
matki’s” etc. They all have attended this virtual celebration in colourful
clothes which symbolizes the scenario of Gokul in Lord Krishna’s time. They
sung bhajan’s, students have prepared dance which was presented virtually
and we all together have celebrated this festival with enthusiasm.
