Primary Section Navratri Celebration, WIS Malad (2015-16)

Navratri Celebration

"Navratri represents how the negativity can be conquered by the inherent positive qualities in an individual so that one emerges as a Divine being." - Sri  Ravi Shankar

A festival that depicts victory of good over the evil. Call it Navratri in Gujarat or Durga Puja in West Bengal the essence of all the celebrations remains the same.

At Witty International School Navratri was celebrated with dance and devotion. Students of the primary section came dressed in traditional attire. Teachers and students enthusiastically performed the Garba dance.  ‘The celebration is very colourful’, said Anay Doshi a student of grade 5 C.
Students found the celebrations refreshing amidst the semester examinations. It was a joyful experience for non dancers too as said by Nimay Desai a student of grade 5F, ‘I cannot dance but when I saw my friends joyfully dancing I too joined and tried a few steps and enjoyed.’ Overall the students remarked that the celebration was awesome and were thankful to the dance teacher Ms Dimple Dhabalia who not only arranged for the music but also shared some dance steps with them. The day was celebrated with joy and cheer.
