Global Musical Sar gam at Witty Annual Days
The 16th Annual function at Witty Group of Schools, Mumbai
with the theme “Global Musical Fusion” this year, was nothing less than a grand
musical spectaculothon. The event spanned over a period of five days showcasing
the immense talent of students from playgroup to Grade 12.The event was graced
with the presence of musical sensations of the nation; Music Director Pritam, Legendary
Choreographer Saroj Khan, Playback singers Divya Kumar, Aaman Trikha and Amit Kumar, Amit Sana &Vishal Kothari of the Indian
Idol fame& Atit Kumar Pandey from Voice India as well as Indo Brazilian
Singer Carlyta Maria Mouhini. School also proudly felicitated its own prodigy
singer Wittian Ms. Meghna Mishra (Secret Superstar fame).
The Annual Days for the secondary sections were Broadway Musicals based
on adaptations of Oscar Winning Classics, “Sound of Music” and “Sister Act.”
From its brightly colored costumes to its hummable tunes and wholesome message,
this feel-good divine musical comedy smash had audiences jumping to their feet!
The pre primary section plot was presented in the form of a Global Musical
Night and little Wittians impersonating Anu Malik & Mr. Bean hosted the
night. They invited many artists like
Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, Daddy Yanky, Katty Perry, Bruno Mars, Baba
Sehgal, Jennifer Lopez, BhappiLehri& many more all played by the little
Wittians in the age range of 3 years to 5 years. The primary section presented
the plot revolving around the biopic of the Legendary Music Composer A. R.
Rehman.
The
programme commenced with the Namokar Vandana followed by spectacular Welcome
acts which showcased the World Carnival as well as the famous Maharashtrian Dhol
Tasha. It will be the first time in school history that any school students
would have mastered the art of Dhol Tasha performed otherwise by only skilled
professionals displaying the grandeur of Indian folk culture. Principal and
Centre Heads of Witty Group of Schools presented the Annual Day speech while
the Annual Report of the School’s achievements and
accolades was put across by a group of students through a Musical Report in the
form of “Witty News”. This was followed bythe felicitation ceremony to applaud
the students for the meritorious achievements this year.
A splendid blend of dances and drama was incorporated which
showcased the true spirit of ‘Global Musical Fusion’. The dances truly ranged
across a broad gamut of Indian Classical Fusion, Ghoomar, Salsa, Robotics,
Bollywood freestyle, Chhau, Hip Hop, Krump and much more. Almost all top international as well as Indian dance forms were mastered by the
talented Wittians. Students performed on the Traditional Martial Arts,
Kalaripayattu which set the stage on fire. The highlights of the show were
the splendid the shadow acts which featured Mumbai MeriJaan and the musical
Arabian Nights.The UV act was one of the most magical acts, weaving its spell
through a multitude of props and visual tricks.A new wave of entertainment was
started with the rib tickling stand-up comedy and mimicry act by the talented
Wittians.
Not to forget the
choir presented by the students across Primary Section mesmerized the audience
acting as an excellent ice-breaker. The ground resounded with ‘Kandhon se
miltehainkandhen’ when students put up an energetic presentation of
Gymnastics. The Grand Finale displaying ‘International
Art with a National Heart’ left the audience awestruck and created a patriotic
ambience.
Founder and Chairperson of Witty Group of Institutions, Dr.
Vinay Jain stated, “Witty Group of Schools are kaleidoscopes of tradition,

lives of others.” The chief guests too spoke about their achievements and
experience in their respective fields.
Principal Mr. Bijo Kurian addressed, “Witty has immense talent which is showcased in our Annual Functions
as we stand proud and tall today as one the top high potential schools in
Mumbai. The warmth of this school is apparent the moment you walk through the
doors, as is the energy.”
Among
the most acknowledged shows was the Chroma Act providing an amazing visual
impact that wowed the audience. Parents
along with students thoroughly enjoyed the year’s celebration with the message
to each one that no matter how much music may have differed
in different parts of the world, it seems that music served a general common
purpose: to fuse the creations and imaginations of the varied cultures
globally.
