Robotics STEM
How do we ensure today’s students enter classrooms filled with opportunities to practice 21st century skills such as analytical thinking, creativity, collaboration and problem solving? Witty International School, Pawan Baug enabled our enthusiastic learners of Grade VI to build a strong foundation on how to develop and operate a Robot by applying basic laws of Physics, Math and of course basic concept of Robotics and STEM education. Mr Amit Varma – Director of Education Global Space was invited to conduct a workshop to enlighten students with the understanding of Robotics.
The basic purpose of the workshop was to provide the students an ideal platform wherein students can learn, program and experiment with robotics and understand the Science and Technology behind robotics. Students could co-relate the learning of robotics to their day to day school curriculum. Along with that they also had the STEM Education – a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines – Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real world.
The Principal, Mr Bijo Kurian asserted, “In today’s fast changing economic times, it is imperative that the academic institutions provide opportunities to the students to develop and channelize their skills and talents towards meeting industrial expectations. This develops their logical and analytical abilities by allowing them to explore new technologies.”
