Investiture Ceremony for Secondary Section at Witty International School Pawan Baug (2018-19).

Students of today are the visionaries and torch bearers of tomorrow. The Investiture ceremony is a solemn occasion where the young students are all prepared to don the mantle and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them. The Investiture Ceremony at Witty International School, ‘Pawan Baug, for the academic session 2018-19 was held on 30^th July 2018 in a distinctive ceremony at the school premises with a high degree of passion, earnestness and fervour. 

The elections for school officials were held on 2^nd July 2018. The students of classes 6 to 10 voted in the presence of the election staff on duty. The elections were held on the lines of our parliamentary elections. We had canvassing, ballot papers, polling officers and counting of the votes. The results were declared on the same day.

The Investiture ceremony was organized amidst great excitement and zeal on 9^th June 2018. The function was graced by the honourable Principal, Mr.Bijo Kurian.

The event began with the march past of the elected student council members of the previous academic year. They then handed over the School Flag, and House flags to the newly elected representatives.  The School Captain, Presidents and House Captains carried the school flag and house flags, respectively, and marched up to the stage.The Principal bestowed, the badges and scarves to the School Captain Dhritvan Alva, School Presidents, Manan Shah and Aashna Punjabi, Sports Captain, KrishDoshi, Cultural Captain, Darsh Modi, the four House Captains,Krish Minawala, Ruby House, AtharvaChavan, Emerald House, Virej Dasani, Sapphire House and, Rupika Gandhi, Topaz House. The four Vice-House Captains and Class Prefects also received their badgesrespectively.

The Student Council at Witty International School, functions as an advisory body for all matters pertaining to Student activities and is at the heart of Student Life at Witty International School. They work in co-operation with all branches of academic faculty and administrative staff.They formally represent the student body in organizing all scholastic,cultural and sporting events conducted by the School. In this, they represent student opinions and issues at all levels and work towards the realization of the same. They are consulted during the formulation of all Student-related policies, provided with an opportunity at all times to express opinion regarding decisions taken by the school, allowed to function independently and flexibly as well as provided with the facilities requested for during the execution of Student Council Functions.

The new council members receive the responsibility, along with the badge with a pledge to preserve the pride of the School. In short, they are the trail blazers, the innovators, the torch-bearers, the leaders, the chosen few upholding the values the school stands for. They are like the beacon occupying the most coveted positions, providing direction to their friends and juniors, aiding the smooth governance of the school.

The Principal, Mr. Bijo Kurian remarked,“Charting the course for a better future is going to depend on the next generation.At Witty International School, we train our students in values, ethics and character-driven leadership. We encourage our students to take on leadership roles, as generation next, they have the chance  and duty  to help build a world in which every human being matters. We wish our student council all the best in their endeavour to set an example and reach out to Wittians and the country in near future”.
