At Witty International School, Udaipur, students of grades I to II celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp and gaiety on September 13, 2018. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. The festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav.
The session started with the melodious devotional shlok recited by the Wittians of Grade 2 Cambridge. The students explained about the significance of the festival and emphasised on eco-friendly ways of celebrating the festival. A skit based on the life of Ganesha was enacted very beautifully by the students. The students performed Ganesh pooja, followed by a scintillating dance in reverence for the deity. The whole atmosphere was charged with festivity. The programme concluded with chants of Ganapati Bappa Morya!!
