“Freedom in the mind, faith in the words, pride in our souls. Let us salute the nation on this Independence Day!”
This year, on August 15, the country geared up
to celebrate 74 years since India became an independent nation. However, this
year, the celebration got shifted online due to the corona virus crisis and it
was little bit different but full of gusto, passion and patriotism. It seemed
that everyone had chosen a virtual celebration to maintain the same enthusiasm
on India’s biggest day.
Witty International School, Atun Road,
Bhilwara also celebrated this national festival with great pomp and show with
the ongoing pandemic on Saturday, August 15,2020, where Wittians were asked to
witness the festivities from the comfort of their homes. The celebration got
started with the patriotic song ‘Sare Jahan Se Accha’ followed with watching a
video of ‘Hell March’ that gave the feeling of patriotism and an unlimited
amount of goose bumps. The students of grade 3 to 10 presented speeches, poems,
patriotic songs and dances to remember the countless sacrifices done by
the freedom fighters and enjoyed participating as well as witnessing the role
plays, as remembering our past is extremely important. Students were very eager
to show the offline tasks which were assigned them to make this day livelier
such as Poster Making for National Symbols, Tricolour Mask Making, Tricolour
Tiara/ Wrist band making and so on to celebrate the glory of Independence Day
and to make the students learn that as patriotic citizens, we all need to put
extra efforts into performing our civic responsibilities and our diversity
should not be seen as a weakness but as our greatest strength.
