Navratri is a nine days' festival celebrated in India to
honour the Mother Goddess in all her Avtars. WIS Bhilwara celebrated Navratri
and Dussehra on Wednesday,1st
October. Students from Grade P.G. to VII came to school dressed
in colourful, beautiful traditional clothes wearing a smile on their excited
faces. They learned a lot about
Navratri and Dussehra festival.
Programme started with lighting of the
lamp and worshiping of Maa Durga by honourable Director, Mr. Akin Choudhary and Principal Mrs. Sadhna
Mishra. Students learned about the festival from poems and speeches. They performed
Dandiya Raas very enthusiastically on their favourite beats. Children had great fun and entertainment. At
last they saw the victory of truth and goodness over evil with burning of Ravan
effigy. All the students genuinely wrote one negative point which they wanted to
root out from their behaviour on a slip of paper and it was burnt with the
Ravan effigy.
