English Speaking Activities held at WIS, Atun Road, Bhilwara

Activity-based method of teaching helps the students in developing the desirable attitude towards learning with more attention, interest and motivation which provides a realistic, practical, learner centered and utilitarian values to the teaching learning process. Keeping this in mind, Witty always encouraged the students to express themselves in different ways. On Thursday, July 30, Witty International School, Atun Road, Bhilwara conducted interesting activities such as Grade 3 B enthusiastically participated in ‘Super Spellerz’ activity in which they enjoyed three rounds based on spellings. Grade 4 A students were so much excited when they came up ready for the ‘Role Play’ with their props and delivered the dialogues very effectively that encouraged  them to explore and solve realistic problems and scenarios. Students of Grade 8^th and 9^th had English Speaking activity in which kinetic Wittians expressed their knowledge and learnt through the act of doing as well as through the act of verbal presentation.

World Nature Conservation Day observed at WIS, Atun Road, Bhilwara (28.07.2020)

World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated across the world on 28^th  July to recognize that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations. Protecting wildlife and supporting biodiversity are the main reasons for conservation. The day reminds us that we need to give back to nature instead of just using resources without thinking about conservation. Rethink, replenish and recycle are key to a sustainable future.

School is not only to bring each student to his/her maximum academic potential but also provide the emotional and social maturity of a child development and develop students’ creative talents and holistic approach. Imagination and creativity are the traits that fuel the young minds. To consummate the creativity an activity based on World Nature Conservation Day was organised at WIS, Atun Road, Bhilwara on Tuesday, July 28,2020 for Grades 5 to 8.

The task was to make articles using waste materials at home and share through virtual platform. The task was to raise awareness among the young minds about protecting nature and conserving our natural resources. It was a blinder performance that the students came up with fascinating and amazing activities and made attractive projects on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

These activities proved that the child is freed from the shackles of mental blocks and let his/her imagination run its course.

International Tiger Day observed at WIS,Atun Road,Bhilwara (Grade III & IV, 29.07.2020)

Global Tiger Day or International Tiger Day is an annual celebration which was created in 2010 to raise awareness for tiger conservation. There are less than 4,000 of these strikingly beautiful cats left in the world. In India alone, where 50,000 tigers roamed freely 200 years ago, now less than three thousand remain.

To make students aware about these facts International Tiger Day was observed at WIS, Atun Road, Bhilwara on Wednesday, July 29,2020.  An informative PPT based on facts about tiger was shown to the students so that they could enrich their knowledge about the largest cat species getting exceedingly endangered having lost over 90% of their natural habitat.

As the school lays emphasis on overall development, in this pandemic too, students of Grade III & IV were given few creative tasks where they could experience the physical real life setting in their location through the advanced visualization technology. They met the life-sized Tiger up close in 3D in AR and captured their pictures. Overall learners had a good learning experience which will last in their memory forever. They had hands on activity for making Tiger masks and their creativity along with enthusiasm towards it could be seen while they came up with beautifully hand- made tiger masks. The entire activity laid emphasis on the importance of tiger in our ecosystem and the utter need for the conservation of these majestic big cats.

 

Eid and Raksha bandhan celebration at WIS, Udaipur by the students of Grades: I- V CAIE

 The principles of peaceful co-existence, tolerance, cooperation, mutual trust and respect towards each other have unified India.

To imbibe the sense of oneness and make the Wittians aware of the perfectly assimilated culture of India, a Special Virtual Assembly based on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity,’ was organized for the students of Grades: I- V Cambridge on Friday, 31st July, 2020.

The assembly was a perfect blend of Unity in diversity as the students celebrated the festivals of Eid and Raksha bandhan with fun and gaiety. It acquainted them with the glorious heritage, culture and traditions.

Students made a wind chime resonating the virtues of brotherhood and unified nation. The enthusiastic approach of the Wittians helped them to not only learn a great deal about the rich Indian culture and heritage but they also understood the unity spread across the communities within the country .

Eid, Friendship Day and Raksha Bandhan Celebration at Witty International School and Witty World by Pre-Primary Section.

The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals.

On Friday, 31st July, 2020 tiny tots of Witty World, Udaipur celebrated Eid, Friendship Day and Rakhsha Bandhan virtually.

Teachers and children came dressed in festive attire for the celebration. They were explained that Eid is the festival of forgiveness celebrated by Muslims. Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August to cherish the bond between friends and we tie Friendship band on our friend's wrist. 

On Rakhsha Bandhan, Sisters tie Rakhi on their brother's wrist and the brother promises to take care of his sister.

Wittians participated in a welcome dance,  they enjoyed card and envelope making activity.

Overall it was a fun-filled day for our little ones.

Friendship Day celebration at WIS, Udaipur by Grade - VI to XII (CBSE and CAIE)

“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”

Witty International School, Udaipur celebrated the sanctity of 'Friendship Day', by conducting an interactive Online Life Skills Session for the students of Grade Vl to Xll (CBSE and CAIE) on 31st July ,2020.

Poignant examples depicting the unconditional bond, of Lord Krishna and Sudama was shared with the students. Countless attributes and qualities of a true friend were recorded during the online session.

The students voiced their hearts out, quoting endless anecdotes and examples of the pious bond.

The session was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone as they vowed to cherish the bond forever. 

Parent's Day celebration at Witty International School, Borivali (2020-21)

Parents’ Day Celebration

 Parents’ unconditional love and selfless devotion for their children is priceless.

We at Witty International School, Borivli always recognise, uplift and support the role of parents in the upbringing of children. Wittans expressed their heartfelt feelings and gratitude to their parents on Parents’ Day, by making greeting cards, photo frames, soulful letters and even cute family drawings this week.

Some students also made a memory book of the wonderful memories spent with their parents. They also managed to look up for the childhood pictures of their parents giving them a pleasant surprise. Wittians recited poems, sang a melody and some even cooked breakfast for their parents. It was indeed a stellar and a successful gratitude filled week for our Wittians as every parent surely felt special and loved.

'Make your own Butterfly Garden" workshop conducted at Witty International School, Borivali (2020-21)

Make your own Butterfly Garden

Butterflies are the most magnificent and fascinating creatures in the world designed with unique and beautiful features. Their aesthetic aspects are mesmerizing and the change they make from one form to another, called metamorphosis is astonishing.

We at Witty International School, Borivli have always encouraged our students to be au courant about protecting and preserving the species of our ecosystem, hence a DIY workshop was conducted for them where they learnt to , “Create their very own Butterfly Garden”

Our guest speaker, Nitya Agarwal, a Nature Enthusiast shared tremendous knowledge about butterfly species and spoke about how to create a butterfly garden in your own backyard. She provided information about morphology of butterflies, host plants, feeding habits of butterflies. The interaction on biodiversity developed the curiosity in Wittians and they truly had a wonderful time.

Story telling on "Insect World" conducted at Witty International School, Borivali (2020-21)

Let’s Peep into the Insect World!

 In continuation to the anthology of wild life story telling series, this week Witty International School, Borivali conducted a storytelling session on the ‘ Insect World.’

Katie Bagli , an acclaimed children’s book writer, nature enthusiast and Rex Karamaveer Global Fellowship Award winner conducted a book review on ‘Let’s peep into the Insect World.’

The book endeavored to arouse curiosity in children about insects. Katie described variety of insects with beautiful illustrated pictures that showed different behaviours of these insects in their natural habitat. Her way of storytelling helped imagine and understand the insects better by sharing many fun facts and trivia to the Wittians.

Students learnt about arthropods, songsters, grasshoppers, cicada, katydid, ants, southern birdwing butterfly and the most efficient energy producing– Fireflies. She also spoke about insect mafia, a monster insect, fleas- recorded as high jumpers, ants- red conquering the blacks and antlions digging pits.

Katie’s knowledge on insects was mesmerizing and students were too keen to grab it all. The story had both wit and escapade. It was truly a fruitful, successful and erudite session for the Wittians.

Art of Origami - Workshop for Secondary Section at WIS, Pawan Baug (2020-21)

What do pizza boxes, pastry boxes, paper bags and fancy napkins have in common? Well, you have guessed it right!ORIGAMI .

 

Everyone loves the magic of turning a piece of paper into something useful or a toy or a pretty decoration. This is the most exciting of all paper crafts. Imagine minimum usage of scissors and glue! Origami is fascinating.Just that one square of paper can be turned into so many wonderful things. But not only is Origami for kids fun, there are also huge educational benefits.

 

In a nutshell, Origami, not only develops eye hand co-ordination, sequencing skills, math reasoning, spatial skills, memory, but also patience and attention skills. Origami allows kids to develop fine motor skills and mental concentration. All of this combined stimulates the brain – especially when both hands are being used at the same time.

 

School believes in developing students’ creative talents and holistic approach. To boost their creativity and move away from the mundane routine, an Origami workshop was conducted by an Education Advisor and Career Counselor,Ms. Merlyn Torres for grades 6,7 and 8 on the 25^th of July.

 

An important theme of celebrating Parents’ Day was associated with the workshop. Wittians couldn’t miss this opportunity to thank their parents uniquely and amazingly. To express their love and thoughts, some came up with precious, fragile, imperishable floral arrangements, while others came up with ornamental, conventional, winsome bouquets crafted not by a local florist, but from the art of using a paper as a decorative tool. Many Wittians also prepared beautiful sacred designer Photo Frames to say thanks to their parents for their commitment and love who mean a complete world to them; for them to realize parenting is a tough job, it takes sacrifice and dedication.

 

While the lower grades were busy in the Cut and Fold, our IGCSE I put up a dance for their parents to express gratitude and love. The dance was conducted by Ms. Impal Kadhi.

 According to Mr. Bijo Kurian, the Principal, and the guiding force, “This is not just a day to honour to Moms and Dads, but also a day when parents can rededicate themselves to their children. No matter what you do for your mom and dad on Parent’s Day, and no celebration or gift can compensate their love and sacrifice, for they are truly selfless, unconditional and forgiving.”
