 STUDENT CLUBs

AT WITTY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Learning with fun

Keeping with the tradition of Saturday activities, Witty International School, Pawan Baug, Malad (West) has organized an array of school clubs that are for the students, of the students and by the students with the guidance from teachers and mentors. Each club has its own dedicated objective and will provide students with opportunities to identify, to nurture and to showcase their unique and immense talents. These clubs will enable the students to shape their personal interests and hobbies.

These clubs include Symphony - Music club, Titans - Sports club, ROFL - Comedy club, Literati - Literary Art club, Picasso - Art club, Pixelate - Media club, Lab Rats - Science club, Mathletes - Math club, Infinity - Dance club, Spotlight - Theatre club, Aawaz - Community of student advocates, and Techtronix - Tech club.

The purpose of these twelve clubs is mainly to help students learn through interaction and discussion. The activities that will be carried out by these clubs will encourage students not only to develop leadership, team spirit, group dynamics, creativity, self- motivation but also will help them in attaining their desired career paths. The students will get to participate in fun activities and games that will enable them to have fun while learning in a casual environment because let’s face it, nobody likes a strict learning environment.

These clubs will provide a fun atmosphere to its gifted students, to learn and enjoy as it is always said ‘Give a man a fish and feed him for a day but teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.’

Principal Bijo Kurian also added, ‘Our lives have changed with working from home and not having our usual routine. It’s easy to get caught up with the comfort of sitting at home, watching TV all day, playing games on the mobile during online classes without moving at all, but what is more important is to use our time wisely and make the best out of this pandemic.’ And it is true, instead of wasting  time on the phone or in front of the TV, it’s better to sharpen ones skills, by clubbing in group activities on Saturdays, for better  thoughts, more practices, better strength to achieve your dreams at no cost!

Amidst cheers of happiness and excitement, children learnt the importance of this festival and displayed amazing ingenuity as they gave vent to their artistic energies by making beautiful idols.

Workshop for The Journey Of Emotions for Primary Section Conducted at WIS PB (2020-21)

Our emotions are an incredibly powerful internal force and affect everything we do and the choices we make. To control our emotions, (not the other way around) we need to build a strong awareness of them as well as our own reactions and only then we can develop our resilience to whatever life throws at us. Keeping this in mind, Witty International School, PB, Primary Section took the initiative of organizing a workshop on ‘Emotional Wellbeing’ for the students of Grade 5 on Saturday 8th August, 2020. Our children got an opportunity to spend time with Ms. Arlene Rego, a Clinical Psychologist and Arts Based Therapy Practitioner who exposed them to different emotions that they experience in different situations. Students were guided on how to keep their mental wellbeing strong by doing any type of activity they like.

Students of Grade 3 and 4 showcased their “Skills explored during Lockdown”. Students expressed their lockdown learning to be very fruitful. Undoubtedly, staying at home for a long duration is a challenging task for many but there is a silver lining too. Wittians shared how they left no stone unturned in applying home economics into their daily lives. From rekindling an old hobby to picking up new skills, lockdown surely helped them to sharpen their skills. Indeed, this was a very productive session as students were also made to understand how empathy can be a tool to help navigate this eerie new normal.
