This year, on August 15, the
country geared up for 74th Independence Day Celebration. However, the celebration got shifted online
because of the ongoing pandemic. As it’s rightly said, “The show must GO ON!” Well,
the celebrations must GO ON and ONLINE too!!
Witty International School, PB, Primary Section celebrated this national
festival with great pomp and show on Saturday, 15th August 2020,
where Wittians showcased different performances live from the comfort of their
living rooms.
Students of Grade 1 and 2 presented a fancy dress show to remember
the countless sacrifices done by the freedom fighters and enjoyed participating
with great excitement. They also sang the patriotic song ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ that gave an unlimited
amount of goosebumps.
Students of Grade 3 put up a show remembering the Indian Achievers wherein the audience was literally plunged into their lives.
Children also displayed their patriotic spirit and fervor by explaining
national symbols, playing musical instruments, singing and dancing.
Wittians of Grade 4 were invited for a workshop conducted by Ms. Mansi
Gawde. The day was full of artistry, overwhelmingly positive and
gratifying as the students loved the session as they made a perfect piece of tricoloured
art. The audience also
braced themselves to witness the patriotic passion with the zeal of love for
the country, a commitment to keep the spirit of freedom alive in the form of
speeches in English and Hindi by the students.
A poignant portrayal
of the process of achieving Independence was enacted by the students of Grade 5
as the ‘Journey of Indian Independence and The Story of Tiranga’, an English
skit. Wittians awakened everyone’s feelings towards our nation by performing a
soulful dramatization. Students also expressed patriotism with a poem in Hindi
that had a beautiful message. It was mesmerizing to see that no virus can bring
down the energy and enthusiasm of our students as they danced their heart out and
sang patriotic songs.
The programme concluded with National Anthem. The students dispersed
with the image of the fluttering tricolour in their minds and a smile on the
face reflecting to be a proud citizen of India.
Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind!
