Poem Enactment "Mary had a little lamb" by Nursery Section at WIS, Malad (2016-2017)

Hearing and joining in with familiar songs, rhymes and jingles can be a fun activity.  It helps in the development of imagination, and, as we all know, dramatization is a great tool for learning. At Witty Kids, our little ones in the nursery class enjoyed enacting the popular rhyme, “Mary had a Little Lamb” on Thursday, 30 June 2016. Children came dressed as Mary and the little white lamb. Children enjoyed the experience of singing the rhyme with Mary and her little lamb.

Celebration of Red Day by Playgroup Section at WIS, Malad (2016-2017)

Little Wittians of playgroup class celebrated “Red Day” at Witty Kids on Thursday, 30 June 2016. All the children as well as the teachers came dressed in red colour attire and the classroom was decorated with red colour objects and flash cards. Teacher introduced all red colour objects with the help of the magic box. Children enjoyed the follow up activity of red colour sponge dabbing on the worksheet.

Teacher also discussed the red colour snacks brought by them in their tiffins. Children had a wonderful time celebrating ‘Red Day’.

Cooking Activity "Making a Mango Squash" by Nursery Section at WIS, Malad (2016-2017)

In order to teach the children how to keep their body cool during the summer season ‘Mango Juice making’ activity was organized for the children of Nursery section on Tuesday, 28 June 2016 at Witty Kids. Children were very thirsty because of hot weather and mango being the summer fruit they also got to taste it by making Mango juice. Children added Mango syrup to water and mixed it all up to make a refreshing Mango flavoured drink. Children were served this refreshing drink and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

 “Laughter  is the Best Medicine” keeping this in mind playgroup celebrated ‘Laughter Day’ on Tuesday, 28 June 2016 at Witty Kids. The class was decorated with different smileys. Teacher also discussed the smiley toy brought by each child and they had great fun playing with them. Children enjoyed the day by sticking yellow paper to make a smiley. It was indeed a smiling day for the little ones.

“Laughter is the best medicine,” keeping this thought in mind “Laughter Day” was celebrated on 28^th June 2016. The kids brought smiley balls & stuffed toys from their homes. They   enjoyed   playing with them and had loads of fun, followed by an activity where the toddlers made a smiley mobile, by sticking yellow paper on smiley cut out.

This was a fun learning experience for them, it was another smiley day at school for the tiny tots.

Cooking Activity "Making a Mango Squash" by Nursery Section (2016-17) at Witty World, Bangur Nagar

Cooking is a messy, delicious, sometimes time-consuming activity, especially when done with a little one. However, we at Witty World believe that it's never too early to start developing culinary skills, especially since cooking is a completely sensorial experience for children. On Tuesday, 28th of June 2016, the Junior Master Chefs of our nursery class at Witty World got a real taste of their own cooking. They all enjoyed the whole process of preparing a delicious mango squash. Children were provided with a bowl, spatula, and a bottle of Mango crush.  They made mango squash by stirring in the squash into a bowl of water.

All in all it was “yummilicious” day for all !!

Secondary Section Celebrating International Yoga Day at WIS, Malad (2016-2017)

Celebration of International Yoga Day

International Day of Yoga or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on June 21 since its inception in 2015. An international day for yoga was declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on December 11, 2014, almost unanimously The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN Address suggested the date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world. He stated, "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. This tradition is 5000 years old. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.

                          

Students of secondary section of Witty International School at Ramchandra Lane also celebrated the International Yoga Day. Students were made aware of the benefits of Yoga. A yoga session was conducted in the library during the Enrichment hour. They performed various Asanas like ‘Surya Namaskar”, ‘Tadasan’, etc. It helped them to relax their body and mind.

Father’s Day is a day of appreciation for what fathers do in their children’s lives. Fathers often go unrecognized and so this day was a perfect time for our Grade V Wittians to show how much they care and respect the way their fathers have stepped into the role of being active co-parent.

This day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by Grade V students of Witty International School, Pawan Baug. Various ways were adopted by students to appreciate their fathers and make them feel special. The event took flight by a welcome speech and a welcome dance. Students gracefully performed to welcome their group of Witty fathers. To proceed with this event, students were expected to choose any one of the following categories like Whistle your tune, Once upon a Poem, Mimicry, Sharing the most memorable moment, Match your steps with ‘Pa’ on the ramp and Showcase your talent.

All of us were amazed to see the team of father and a child sharing the stage together. The hearts of the Wittians were filled with love which was reflecting on through their smiles. Students were excited to see their fathers along with them as they are generally accompanied by mothers in school for various things. Various games which made the event more interesting were enjoyed by the pair of a father and the child.

The day ended well with smiles on father’s faces while being felicitated by students and vote of thanks saluting all the wonderful fathers appreciating them for dedicating some time out of their busy schedule.

           On 23 ^rd & 24^th June,2016 Nursery & Play group section celebrated "Fun With Daddy Day" in Witty World. Little Wittians  with their  daddies came to school to enjoy their daily school routine.  Daddies  played games with the parachute, enjoyed a session of  music and movement , played games in the  soft gym and had fun with story time.

         Precious memories were created and carried  in a 'Treasure chest' made by daddy and child!!!
