INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AT THE NIE TIMES NEWS MEET
Mumbai,
January 17: Keeping in mind the extracurricular activities the students of the
Middle School section of Witty International, Malad attended the NIE Times News
Meet held at Birla Matushri Sabagriha, Marine lines on 16th January
2015.
The four
students of Grade VII namely; Rohan Potdar, Vasisht Varma, Prithvi Sawla and
Jahnvi Krihnamurthy displayed the best of their talent. The first round
consisted of a multiple choice questionnaire on various General Knowledge topic
across the country and globe. The second round was a session on writing an
article on “The Mumbai of my Dreams.” The buzz and enthusiasm of all the one
thousand students present in the auditorium enlivened the atmosphere
thoroughly. They received overall knowledge in the various fields of science
and technology, sports, education, politics etc. The Audio visual on the entire
process of how a “Times of India” paper is delivered to each reader’s doorstep
personally was also showcased during the meet.
Further the
presence of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr Devendra Phadnavis added a
zeal and zest to the occasion. He addressed the students and quoted “You all
are students of the age of technology. However do not only look for information
but make use of it and convert it into knowledge.” This was followed by a panel
of discussion wherein the Honourable Chief Minister accepted questions from
various students and addressed them individually.
It was truly
an exuberating morning that led to immense sharing of information and amassing
a vast amount of knowledge. It was a day to be remembered and cherished.
