WIS celebrated two auspicious occasions today
– Janamashtmi and Teacher’s Day. Students celebrated these days with sheer
enthusiasm. The program began with a popular Hindi
song praising Lord Krishna “Achyutam, Keshavam, Krishna Damodaram.” Director
Sir and Ma’am Principal enlightened the lamp and students of Grade VIII
welcomed the teachers by putting tilak on their forehead. Students recited a
beautiful poem on teachers.
On
this day there was a shloka and mantra chanting competition in which students of Grade I
to IV participated with a great passion. They chanted very inspiring shlokas and
mantras on teachers and religions. Grade
V students presented a short play on lord Krishna depicting Lord Krishna’s playful, mischievous youthful days. A wonderful parody was presented by
the witty staff. A very exciting and traditional dahi handi competition was
conducted in which house mistresses took part.
At the end whole school echoed with the words " Haathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal ki".
