One
Nation, One Vision, One Identity
Witty
International School, Pawan Baug, reinforced Solidarity, Unity and Reignited
the Sparks Of Patriotism on 26th January, 2016 when the Tricolour
was hoisted by the Guests of Honour, Brigadier Ratan Singh, a highly decorated
officer of 1956 batch and Major Amit Vyas, a young, dynamic officer serving in
The Indian Army while the Principal Mr. Bijo Kurian, the teachers and the
students saluted the Flag with pride and pledged to uphold the honour,
integrity, diversity and uniqueness of the country with the National Anthem
reverberating the surroundings.
An
extravaganza of colour, rhythm, pride & love for the country followed the
ritualistic flag hoisting. The Student Council, formally welcomed the Chief
Guest to the auditorium and the plethora of events began. The programme began
with a beautiful Indo fusion dance showcasing the Indian culture followed by a Historical
play. This striking act was followed by the beautiful rendition of Patriotic
songs in the form of a Medley by the school choir. The whole school joined the
choir and the song reverberated in the surroundings. The Mime Act, No Blue, No Green; showcased the
present scenario of water shortage in India while “Reawakening”, an English
play, emotionally involved everybody present in the auditorium with the mind
boggling question of how aware all of them are with the Indian Constitution.
This was
followed by a spell-binding finale performance paying our Homage to the Nation
by felicitating the Indian Armed Forces for the commendable work done by them
in protecting the country from internal and external dangers. The Chief Guests while being felicitated were
overwhelmed with the students’ zeal and enthusiasm in involving themselves with
such finesse in the Republic Day programme. Brigadier Ratan Singh said, “I am
proud to see that the future of our country is in safe hands for I can see
unity, strength and self-realization within all of you. You are treading
cautiously on the path of becoming the face of the nation.” While Major Amit
Vyas quoted, “The responsibility of upholding the integrity and democracy of
this nation lies with the youth today and we all can make a contribution in our
own way to do our bit for this country.” The event ended with the vote of
thanks tendered by the Student Council. Overall the programme successfully
showcased India’s progress from the pre-independence era to the new millennium
focusing on the core of India’s achievements and its unique identity.
Principal, Mr. Bijo Kurian stated, “As the
children of this great nation we must reiterate our national resolve and
rededicate ourselves to our motherland. We must prove ourselves as a powerful
force striving for universal values and ideals and contributing to global peace,
friendship and progress.”
Students left
the school premises with patriotism reverberating their minds and happiness
enveloping their souls.
