Debates allow
students to become more proficient in speaking, researching, reading, and
writing skills, and they promote reasoning as well as communication skills.
Fact-filled and passionate debates provide the incentive for students of all
academic and socioeconomic levels to become engaged and to participate in the
debate process.
To use students’
natural talent of arguing and challenging authority, WIS tried to channel that
energy into a positive learning assignment through debate competition on the topic

Preliminary round
was held on March 2, 2016 and final round took place on March 5, 2016. Students
presented their views for and against the topic. Refutation round was the most
exciting one. They argued like great leaders.
It was a great learning experience for the students and teachers as
well.
