Mahavir
Jayanti is celebrated by the Jain community commemorating the birth of Lord
Mahavira, the founder of Jainism. It is the most important festival for Jains.
Mahavira is the 24th and the last Tirthankara, who preached the essence of
life, virtue and non-violence towards all living beings.
This great day was celebrated in the school on Monday, April 18,
2016. Students of Grade VI presented a special assembly on this occasion.
Students chanted Jain Mantra “Ohm Namo Arihantanam” in a decent way and very
well explained its meaning. The students emphasized the importance of
spreading Lord Mahavira’s teaching for the betterment of the society. The most
important part was when students laid down the importance of ‘Guru’ in our
life, who shows us the way from darkness to light.
Students were energetic, filled with joy and their confidence was
seen on the stage.
