July 2016, Witty World hosted”
SENSETUTION” event for Jr.KG that focused on providing fun, sensory experiences
to children. Sensory play is
simply play that encourages children to use one or more of the senses.
Sensory play experiences focus on stimulating children’s senses of sight, sound,
smell, touch, taste, balance, and movement.
At Witty World children
were provided with ample opportunity to touch ,feel, taste, hear, and
smell through various attractive displays and games in different “ sense booths”. There was display of various edible household items for kids like ketchup, jam, sugar, salt and amla juice for
taste. In the sense booth for vision there
were binoculars, camera and many more optical
instruments on display. In the sense booth
for hearing, kids were given various musical instruments like drum,
guitar and trumpets to experiment with. Children experienced different textures
and had a hands on feel of various different textures like rough, smooth, hard , in the sense booth
for touch. Different aromas greeted them in the sense booth for smell, where
they also got to experience pungent and unpleaseant odours as well.
The children definitely
had a “sensational” experience!!!
