Diwali a contraction of Sanskrit
‘deepavali’ which translates into ‘row of lights’ involves the lighting of
small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil.
These lamps are kept on during the night in order to ensure Laxmi, the Hindu
goddess of happiness, feels welcome.
Pre-primary Wittians came dressed in
traditional clothes for Diwali party. They enjoyed listening to the story of
Diwali narrated by teachers. Children of Senior KG and Nursery recited rhymes
and kids of Junior KG enjoyed dancing with their peers on melodious music. They
enjoyed eating snacks and sweets in the lunch. Children of Play Group and
Nursery enjoyed colouring the Deepak worksheet. Children of Junior KG and
