‘The Greatness of a Culture can be found in
its Festivals.’ Keeping the warm spirit of the festivals of Makar Sankranti,
Lohri and Pongal, Witty International School, Pawan Baug observed 13th January,
2017 with great gusto through Sanskriti - A Cultural Fest, converging the three
festivals together.
To add blooming bud to the bouquet, the
students participated in all the activities like Kite Decoration, Pot
Decoration, Floral Rangoli, etc with full zeal and fervour. It was a wonderful
opportunity for the students to showcase their creativity in the form of
beautiful vibrant things and later using the same to
decorate the school. The decoration was entirely student's show with very less
teacher's guidance.
The atmosphere of the school was not short of
a carnival. Festivities were in the air! Wittians of Grades I – V went
across all the three Community Areas each representing harvest festival in its
own ethnicity. Students were briefed about the festival at all three
destinations by our apprentices attaining the belief of our school. Witty International School believes that it
is important for children to understand their heritage and the cultural significance
of festivals incorporating food and traditional dress, discussions about their
historical roots and how they bring communities together, and helping children
better understand diversity within their own culture.
