Baisakhi festival is
celebrated with lots of joy and enthusiasm. This day is full of colors and
vibrancy. Sikh celebrates this very important day of their religion with
devotion. They take an early bath, wear new clothes and visit the Gurudwara to
participate in the special prayer. Farmers also celebrate Baisakhi as a
Thanksgiving Day which marks the foundation day of Khalsa Panth by the 10th
Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. The auspicious day of Baisakhi is celebrated all
over India though under different names like Rongali Bihu in Assam, Naba Barsha
in West Bengal, Vaishakha in Bihar, etc.
Today at Witty
International School, Udaipur, kids of preschool celebrated Basakhi. They came
dressed in Punjabi attire and witnessed the special assembly wherein they tried
speaking few lines on the importance of the festival. Children enjoyed having
sweets during tiffin time and colored the Baisakhi worksheet.
