Bastille Day Celebration
Bastille Day, or the French National Day, is celebrated on July 14th every year. It is a day to celebrate and remember the beginning of the French Revolution, following the storming of the Bastille in Paris, which was a fortress and prison representing French Royalty in 1789.
Students of Grade I Witty World School Chikoowadi celebrated Bastille Day by making wrist bands using blue, white and red satin ribbons. They were familiarized to French words like ‘Bonjour’ and ‘Merci’. A collage making activity, introducing the students to the French culture was done. Students enthusiastically participated in the activity by bringing pictures of French costumes, cuisines, and monuments.
