Navy Day in India is observed on 4 December every year to celebrate the achievements and role of the
naval force to the country. The Indian Navy is the marine branch of the Indian
Armed Forces and is led by the President
of India as Commander-in-Chief. The Maratha Emperor, Chhatarpati Shivaji Bhosle of the 17
century is considered as “Father of the Indian Navy”.
The Indian Navy plays an important role in
securing the marine borders of the country as well as enhancing the
international relations of India through seaport visits, joint exercises,
humanitarian missions, calamity relief and so on. To pay homage to Indian Navy,
students of Witty International School, Atun Road observed this day on Monday,
December 4, 2017. Students of Grade V presented a special assembly; they
delivered speech and informed that the modern Indian navy has undergone speedy
renovation in order to improve its position in the Indian Ocean region. Students also recited a heart touching poem for soldiers of Indian Navy.
