Not only is the science of the solar system fascinating, but
the literally infinite possibilitiesof the universe make space one theme that
is a great way to encourage learning and exploring the world around. This year,
the World Space Week theme is “The Moon:Gateway to the Stars” recognizing the
50th anniversary of the first human footprints on another world.
To commemorate World Space Week an animated video on
Chandrayaan – 2 was shown. Fruit rocket making activity using fruits like
watermelon, grapes, banana, pineapple and plums not only encouraged students’
creativity but also promoted discussing facts about rockets. It was a fun, refreshing and healthy treat that reinforced learning.
