The best way to find
yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
-Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with great zeal and
enthusiasm in Witty International School, Atun Road, Bhilwara on 2 October,
2019 with full of patriotism where a special assembly was conducted by the
students of Grade 1 and 2. The Wittians participated and displayed their
hidden talents like dance and music. The students started the special assembly
with speeches on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri ji to shed
light on Gandhiji’s and Shastriji’s invaluable contribution in India’s freedom
struggle and how their principles of truth and non-violence are still
remembered today. The students marked their respect by singing, “Raghupati
Raghav Raja Ram….’ And ‘De Di Hume Azaadi’… which aptly matched with the
principles of our ‘Father of the Nation’. Students learnt the message of
endurance, peace, harmony and expressed their gratitude to Gandhiji for giving
us the powerful tool of Non-Violence. To uphold
the value of non violence, students performed fascinating dances on
peace.
Students of grade 3 to 9 watched videos about
these two great personalities and also promised to abide by the campaign-
‘Swachhta Hi Sewa Abhiyan’, started by the Prime Minister on 15th Sept.’18 with
the pledge to keep school, home, city clean. They enjoyed the group activity of
Poster making related to the topic ‘ Gandhiji Ke Sapno Ka Bharat’. Princpal Mrs Abha Mittal
motivated students to practice integrity and truthfulness in their lives.
