Basant Panchami is a popular Hindu
festival that celebrates the onset of spring. On this day, Goddess Saraswati is
worshipped. It is also known as Shree Panchami. The scintillating yellow colour
holds great importance on this day. The colour of Basant i.e. Yellow also
known as the ‘Basanti’ symbolizes prosperity, light, energy and optimism.
Little Wittians at Witty World,
Bangur Nagar celebrated Basant Panchami on 29th January, 2020
with a great zeal and fervor. The colours of spring were visible all over
the school as children came dressed in bright hues of yellow and
orange. Teacher discussed the importance of this festival by showing
slides and singing songs. Children of PG section made a head gear of a
sun, Nursery Section did dabbing of orange and yellow on the Sunflower
collage.Jr.KG section drew a sunflower in their scrap book and sprinkled yellow
and orange crepe paper and coloured the stem green with the help of crayons and
Sr.KG section drew a nature scene in their scrap book.
The festive fervor was spread amongst all and the children
enjoyed the day, enlightened by the blessings of Maa Saraswati.
