In
an attempt to understand French Culture and its place in history, Witty
International School, PB, Primary Section celebrated French
National Day on Saturday, 11th July 2020. Bastille Day or the French National Day, is celebrated on 14th
July every year, representing freedom, equality and fraternity.
No better way it could
be than conducting workshops for our students. Wittians
of Grade 3 had a delightful
experience of creating a Dot Painting using
the French flag colours and enthusiastically made the Eiffel Tower. They had a jovial time with Ms. Zainab Anjarwala and Ms.
Nazneen Shaikh during the session.
Students of Grade 4 were
invited for a workshop on ‘Lampshade Art’ with Ms. Mansi Gawde, Ms. Nivedita
D’souza and Ms. Apeksha Devkar. Students thoroughly enjoyed creating their very
own stunning Eiffel Tower
lampshade! Their unique lampshades were beautifully crafted with their
wonderful designs and artwork.
This
day was an opportunity to motivate students to practise French speaking and art
skills. Students of Grade 5 were exposed to the French culture and were invited
for a workshop on ‘Pop-up Card’ with Ms. Samsunisha Shaikh and Ms. Naina
Sharma. Wittians made an Eiffel Tower Pop-up Card.
It
was indeed a fruitful day where students entered into the spirit of the day and
ignited their enthusiasm for learning the French language and culture.
