Raksh Bandhan – A thread
that binds two souls in a bond of joy forever
Raksha
Bandhan celebrates the undying bond
between brothers and sisters symbolized by the tying of a holy thread, ‘Rakhi’
around the wrist of brothers. Years come and go,
but certain relationships are there to stay forever. The festival that rejoices
every bit of these sacred connections is Raksha Bandhan, which is a celebration
of undying bond between a brother and sister.
Students of the Primary section (ICSE)
at Witty International School, Pawan Baug celebrated the sacred festival
of Raksha Bandhan with great excitement. Students of Grade 1 & 2 enriched
their culinary creativity through a ‘Chocolate Ladoo Making’ activity. With instructions from teachers and guidance
by their parents our little chefs enthusiastically mixed the ingredients and
actively participated in the activity. They
were also told about the importance of washing hands before and after cooking.
After the completion of the activity, children relished eating the yummy
ladoos. The activity exposed them to a wide range of movements, created
awareness about measurements, helped in building their focus, concentration and
motor skills.
Students of Grade 3 – 5 participated with
great zeal and zest in the ’Rakhi Making’ activity conducted by Miss Chandani
Thakkar. They displayed their creative streak by making colourful rakhis. The celebration, aimed at strengthening the bond of love
and to instil the virtues of love and harmony among the young, growing
Wittians.
Amidst lockdown the
activities made digital learning fun and creative. Information on Eid al- Adha,
Friendship day and Raksha Bandhan was shared with the students.
The activities
helped the children to relate with their own culture and traditions and instil
a sense of pride in them.
