“Teachers’ Day 2020”
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions
and despite limitations of online, the enthusiasm of students from Witty
International School, Pawan Baug, Malad (West) was not dampened to celebrate
Teachers’ Day - a day to pay respect to teachers and thank them for their
efforts and hard work they put in every day, all round the year to nurture students
whether it’s the physical classroom or a zoom classroom.
Like each year, on the 5th of September, 2020, the teachers received an
invitation from the students to participate in the Teachers’ Day program. The Student Council, along with the
help of students had organized a virtual Teachers' Day program. They had planned a series of programs
like a splendid skit on zoom classes recorded by students for their
teachers. A 'Guess who is who' game with plenty
of funny moments and a dance was put together by a few of the IGCSE II
students. Not to forget the speeches that left their teachers emotional, as
every word had warmth of affection and love spilled when they described teachers with their names. It was a
bucket of surprise that put the enormity of the moment quite invigorating and
heartfelt.
“Over the past few days, we have become
tech-savvy and we prepared every bit of technology to celebrate Teachers’ Day,
to appreciate their efforts virtually. As the head girl and organizer, it was
truly a challenging task as the program had to be held online,” said Aashvi
Sanghvi (School President – Girl).
Principal Bijo Kurian said, “A virtual
program that has been arranged by the students for their teachers is a new
experience for the students. And the gift of words they sent teachers was their
sweetest gesture.”
