To commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi
as well as as of Lal Bahadur Shastri, students of Witty International School,
Atun Road, Bhilwara attended virtual celebration on Gandhi Jayanti and Lal
Bahdur Shastri Jayanti on Saturday, 3rd October, 2020. Students from classes III to X
participated in the activities that were aimed towards creating awareness and
inculcating Gandhian values of humanity, brotherhood and secularism.
A devotional ambience prevailed as the day got
started with a meaningful prayer in the form of ‘Sarva Dharma Prarthana’.
As Gandhiji said “The need of the moment is not one religion but mutual respect
and tolerance of different religions.” Valuable information on the life of the
Mahatma Ji and Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was shared by the students in form of
speeches and poems to celebrate the birth anniversary of two great leaders.
Gandhiji’s role in Indian freedom movement was
highlighted by the students by speaking his quotes and the acts were also
presented on Gandhian values of secularism and equality. The day was filled
with an array of activities for students which were designed keeping in mind
the great leader- Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings. Students played the game
‘Truth and Dare’ in which they shared their one mistake and apologized for that
and pledged to follow the path of truth only. Students were told about the
importance of “Charkha” and Swadeshi items. Students also promised to abide by
the campaign- ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’,
started by the Prime Minister on 15th Sept.’18 with the pledge to keep school,
home and city clean.
