In conformity with this age old proverb ‘Witty International School’ believes in the inculcation of sports and other co-curricular activities as an integral part of the curriculum. It strives to provide students with a platform for an all-round personality development.
The school celebrated its 9th Annual Athletic Meet, ‘Synergy’ 2010 – 11 from 29th November – 2nd December at the Goregaon Sports Club.
The vast lawn area was divided into four pavilions based on the four school houses namely – Ruby (Red), Emerald (Green), Sapphire (Blue) and Topaz (Yellow). The theme for this year was ‘Life is Beautiful’. This year too, the traditional fervour and enthusiasm among parents and students was at its peak. It was the first time that Synergy had such a grand opening ceremony amidst a spectacular laser show and fireworks. Students from playgroup, kindergarten, primary and secondary sections were a part of this magnificent action packed event.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Rajesh Athaide, CMD, St Angelo’s Computers Ltd. The captains of the four houses presented him with the traditional Guard of Honour. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Anuj Chatterjee, a stalwart from the sporting arena. Dr. Vinay Jain, Managing Trustee and Mr. Bijo Kurian, Principal of the school addressed the guests and commented on the importance of sports in one’s life. The parents of the students took an active part and compared the show.
The mega event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial torch and releasing of balloons by the Chief Guest. Thereafter the oath taking ceremony was held. The parade of the student’s band brought a lot of rhythm and pomp to the show. The highlight of the event was the March Past with strength of more than 1450 students. This was followed by various performances such as ‘Roman Rings’ ‘Dumbbells’ ‘Musical Yoga’ ‘Ribbon Drill’ ‘Gymnastics’ ‘Lezim’ ‘Aerobics’ ‘Judo’ to name a few. The entire event was displayed on LED screens. Adhering to the theme, ‘Life is Beautiful’ the laser show started with the creation of a fairytale – like atmosphere with changing colour patterns and flowing figures. Each movement had been synchronized to perfection.
It was indeed an evening of Blissful Spell.
