REPUBLIC DAY
CELEBRATIONS
The children of Junior Kg
class celebrated Republic day on 25th of January, 2013. During the
Republic Day celebrations, children wore dresses with colours from the
tri-colour of our National flag.
The children were informed
that Republic Day is celebrated on 26th of January of every year
because India became a free and republic nation on 26th January
1950. The teacher explained the importance of Republic Day to the children.
The teacher educated the
children by telling that Republic Day is celebrated every year across the
nation and as a traditional ceremony the present President of our nation will
hoist the national flag in New Delhi; after which he will address the people of
this nation with his Republic Day speech.
Children also received
information about the national symbols such as national flag, national anthem,
national emblem, national bird and national animal. The Republic Day
celebration included activity sessions wherein, children drew the National flag
on their scrap book. Later they had great fun dancing to the tunes of the
patriotic songs.
