Tourism is
an important, even vital, source of income for many countries. Tourism brings
in large amounts of income into a local economy in the form of payment for
goods and services needed by tourists.
With the
purpose to foster awareness among the international community of the importance
of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value students of
Grade - 3 (B) Witty International School presented an assembly on ‘World Tourism
Day’. They gave information on when it is celebrated and the significance of
this day.
Students
showed the images and explained the top-most 5 favourite places which attract tourists
in India such as - Taj Mahal in Agra, Varanasi sacred place to Hindus, Buddhists
and Jains, Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad, Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar and
Jaisalmer Fort in Rajasthan.
The amazing
part of the assembly was when the Wittians shared their experiences and views
about their visit to Chandigarh and Amritsar.
Visit to
Wagah border was an amazing experience for the students and teachers. They felt
very proud to be Indians after witnessing the retreat ceremony at Wagah border.
