All denoting

Joy and
abundance.
Every year Makar Sankranti is celebrated with lots of fun
and joy on 14th January. Unlike all other Indian festivals Makar
Sankranti has its own historical and religious significance in India. It marks
the completion of the winter season and the beginning of the new harvest
season. This festival is entirely devoted to Lord Sun and it also refers to a
specific solar day in the Hindu calendar. This festival is also known as
Uttarayan.
It
has its own vibes of celebration and this transforms with the different states
and religions. Makar Sankranti has different reasons and names to celebrate but
the vibes of fun and joy remains the same in the heart of everyone.
We
at Witty International School, Bhilwara truly believe in celebrating all the Indian
festivals and making the students learn about its importance and its historical
significance. Students of Grade 1 and 2 celebrated this day with lots of
happiness. The students enthusiastically presented English and Hindi poems to
enlighten about the festival. They performed on the beats of a melodious
song. They also shared the Do’s and Don’ts about the festival.
