“Though far from home but never truly apart from Nation which resides
in our hearts”
To
salute the non natives Indians who left the country to purse career and brought
glory to our nation, Witty celebrated the National NRI day on 9 January
2020. The day commemorates
return of Mahatma Gandhi, the greatest Pravasi from South Africa to India on 9
January 1915. Best known for their amazing contributions to society the Indian
born economists, mathematicians, biochemists, directors, screenwriters, astronauts,
business tycoons and philosophers were taken a trip down the memory lane and venerated.
A
special assembly was observed by the students of Grade V to IX to connect the
Indians round the globe and to ensure the Indians residing overseas feel the
spirit of having global family. Wittians came dressed as their favorite Pravasi
and spoke about their journeys of leaving their homeland to pursue their dreams
and aspirations.
The
Vice Principal of the school concluded the assembly by encouraging the students
to go beyond mirage and make India a bright spot in the world.
