Freedom in our Minds, Faith in our Words, Pride in our Souls
Independence Day is a day to rejoice and celebrate as it unfolds the
touching stories of the past and the glorious progress India has made. It marks
the anniversary of national independence from the British Empire. It is the
most auspicious day for the people of India because India attained independence
after a lot of hardships and sacrifices of the brave freedom fighters.
No doubt, Covid 19 is one of the dire threats that the world has ever
faced, but it has made every one realize the need for hope, solidarity and
desire for togetherness.
Unlike previous years, celebrations have been restricted to virtual
mediums. Although Covid 19 has added a twist to the Independence Day
celebrations, the patriotic fervor among the Wittians remained the same. To get
the students into the festive mood many art and craft activities were conducted
for the students of all grades a week prior. Kids prepared brilliant creative
tricolor badges, drawings and innovative ideas were showcased through stencil
art.
The feather in the cap was that the students took up the challenging task
of presenting an online show. Incredible indeed!!! To inspire and ignite
patriotism among the future Indians a wide range of colorful cultural program
was organized. The day started off with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by
welcome speech given by Master Rahil Zaveri, the newly elected male School
President. Melodious patriotic songs, a mesmerizing dance, and a marvelous skit
were presented. This glorious day would seem incomplete
without commemorating the legendary poets so Kavi Sammelan was a part of the
program.
The entire program kept the audience engrossed to the core.
Principal Sir, Mr. Bijo Kurian quoted, “A responsible citizen is one of
the dominant pillars of the country, so it’s the duty of the students to take
up the moral responsibilities and duties. We at Witty believe in creating ideal
future citizens.”
On
this auspicious day headmistress Ms. Swapna Shaji stated, “A team is like a
tool set, not one tool can do all the jobs, but together it can.” So ma’am
requested everyone to work with dedication and take the school to the pinnacle
of success.
As all
good things come to an end, so did this event. The newly elected female School President,
Miss Aashvi Sanghvi proposed the vote of thanks.
The
virtual celebration created history for the Wittians to cherish.
