Onam Celebration Primary 2012-2013

Onam is the largest festival in the Indian state of Kerala. The festival also keeps alive the legend of a benevolent ancient ruler called Mahabali, who, it is believed, again visits his subjects - the people of Kerala – during Onam. The harvest festival is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm all over Kerala by people of all communities. Kathakali performances and boat races – locally known as Vallamkali – are also permanent fixtures during the Onam celebrations. Students of Primary Section (Grade I-IV) celebrated the festival by making Torans as a part of their Enrichment Hour activity.
